She is
Set Apart was started by Tierraney Richardson. In April 2014, she read the book
Spoken For where Alyssa Bethke shares a story about her singleness that
somewhat mirrored hers. This book helped her see who and whose she was and that
she’s already been chosen, loved, valued, pursued, and called by Jesus Christ.
As she dove deeper into scripture she was able to replace lies with the truth
of the word. She learned that nothing is wrong with her that was simply a lie
from the enemy. In fact, she saw her lifelong singleness as protection from
Christ. God protected her by keeping her from meaningless relationships that would
serve as nothing but a distraction. God
chose to set her apart. As her view of her singleness began to shift from a worldly
perspective to a biblical perspective she noticed that many other singles were
still stuck viewing their singleness from a worldly perspective. This is when She is Set Apart was started.
It began
with the idea of a conference and soon expanded into a blog and YouTube
channel. All with the purpose of encouraging single women to live with an
eternity focused mind. Not a mind that
is constantly distracted by the lies the enemy feeds them about their
singleness or about the constant longing for a man to finally choose them. She
wanted to see single women shift their perspective of singleness from a worldly
perspective to a Godly perspective. Knowing that contrary to what the world
says God says that as a single they are chosen, loved, valued, pursued, and
called. She wanted to see single women not wasting their single season but
using every gift and talent God has given them to maximize their singleness for
God’s glory all with the goal of making more disciples.
Our vision for singles to ....
- understand who and whose they are.
- view their singleness from God's perspective
- be productive single women for the kingdom of God by utilizing their gifts and talents to fulfill the great commission
- live out their single season with an eternity focused mind
Our mission is to....
- Post blogs where other Christian Single women share their personal journey of singleness and how they are living a set apart lifestyle
- Post video content on our YouTube channel where we interview women on various topics relating to singleness and living a set apart lifestyle
- Host events that gather and equip women to know who and whose they are.
