Hey Single Woman Who Lied to You?

I'm a woman who has been single for 23 going on 24 years of my life. In case you didn't know my birthday is next month and I'll be 24. So every year of my existence I've been single.

It's amazing to me that I'm even able to say this and put this on the internet for the world to see. Because for 98% of my time being single I would have never confessed to that. Out of fear of what others would think I would have never said how I've been single my entire life and never been in a relationship.

I was afraid that others would think something was wrong with me mainly because I thought something must be wrong with me. I mean come on all my life and not one relationship. Something's wrong, right? Wrong!

This my sisters is nothing more than another lie of the enemy. Satan wants us as single women to believe something is wrong with us. Because if we are so busy thinking something is wrong with us then we will be distracted. Too distracted to focus on the purpose of why we are here on earth which is to fulfill the great commission and make disciples of all nations.

Satan lied to you when he told you singleness = un-loved, un-wanted, un-cherished, and un-valued. These are lies! Lies that many single women have been believing for too long because we've been viewing our singleness from a worldly perspective.  Instead, if we look at life from God's perspective we will see that in every season including singleness that we are so loved, valued, cherished, and wanted by God.

We are so valuable to him so much that he has chosen to set us apart in this single season. He has chosen to hide us in this season from men pursuing us who do not know our worth and value. It's really not that hard to be in a relationship. Yes, I've been single all my life but if I really wanted to I could have gotten into a relationship with any random like all the other girls around me. But I serve a great God who prevented that from happening.  Just think you could have been like Sally and Rachel who since age thirteen have been running in and out of fruitless, time wasting relationships.  Is that what you really want?  If we were paying too much attention to this world we felt rejected when if we just looked at things from God's perspective we would have seen it as protection.  God loves us too much to give us over to any random man who doesn't know our value as His daughter. Because he loves us he has hidden us at this time. In His timing if he so chooses he will un-hide us for the one man who he desires us to be with.

God chose to set me apart and he has chosen to do the same for you. So instead of looking down in disgust on yourself for being single, hold your head up high and be proud of your singleness. Not to be arrogant or to boast but instead because you know that you are so loved by God that he is willing to protect you and set you apart from those he knows is not good for you and detrimental to your purpose.
