Guarding Your Heart VS. Building Walls

Today most of us don’t know the difference.  Including ME. It is really difficult to know , if what you are doing is out of the spirit of faith or out of the flesh of the body. Sometimes we think we are guarding our heart by studying and understanding the word, but what we may really be doing is, building huge walls around us, not giving access for people to see who we are (FYI: you will need to spend time in prayer and ask God to reveal it to you.)

We don’t allow ourselves to take that road of emotions that once led us to a place of brokenness and disappointment.  We often think,, after all that pain, and all that brokenness , our hearts are too fragile to take another disappointment or another crack . You feel comfort knowing that you have taken your brokenness  to God and allowed Him to heal you, because today you are certainly in a better place and that is only by the grace and strength of God in you.  Do you feel that the better place you are in right now is truly your destination? With much love for you I would say a blunt no -  it’s a part of the journey you are on.

If Jesus were to build walls around Him every time He faced persecution, the mockery , the denial , the bitterness and the crucifixion,, there wouldn’t be Grace today. There wouldn’t be a doorway to heaven and there wouldn’t be hope in this world. Can we for once imagine this world without hope? I barely can. Jesus guarded His heart and yet showed love and grace. He did not turn His back on the tax collectors,  He spoke of the truth but with grace and love. He knew we did not deserve such amazing grace.  He died for all the sinners because He knew that it was His purpose. The sinless , pure son of God bore the weight and hatred of this world to fulfill His purpose on earth.  He never lost sight of His purpose and that’s what helped Him to bear the weight.  Because that very purpose allowed Jesus to know that it was so much greater than, a momentary pain, hours of agony on the cross, months of trials. Today if you and I need to bear the weight of this world, the weight of failure , we should ask God to reveal to us our purpose.

If today you are in your phase of singleness , what’s your purpose? Is it to go and find a suitable God fearing Man?  Certainly not. It is to be the daughter you are made to be first!

You may be a regular church goer, a faithful servant,  a very lovable and a cheerful person , but how is the condition of your heart? Have you built walls around you, whose bricks are….

PRIDE –  Believing that a man should pursue his wife but we are trying to play hard to get?
FAILURE - Knowing or believing  your previous relationship failed , and you afraid that might happen again.
LIES - By past experiences believing that you were not good enough for someone , will you be good enough for the one whom God has chosen?

It is so easy to believe what someone in flesh and blood says, making  you  build these walls around you even though you know the truth lies in the word – You are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made . We often don’t realize the depth and true understanding of the word, until someone makes us feel otherwise.  In understanding who you are , you will understand your purpose and most of all, you will know there are no bricks left. New Living Translation – 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

Your radiant love will shine for the world to see, His light will shine through you, revealing your purpose in Him and He will prepare you to receive your promise.

If it’s a promise of Love, a promise of a loving family or a promise of being content , it’s on the way, and it’s yours because it has your name written on it and no past relationship or person can change that.
